Over the past several weeks, I have been working on my case study that I will be presenting in the interactive poster session at the Reputation Institute Conference in Amsterdam.  The case study will be focusing on Heineken and their campaign “Give yourself a good name.” I am very excited about this wonderful opportunity to present at this presitigious conference and meet fellow professionals working and researching in reputation management.

While conducting my research, I went on the Reputation Institute web site and released today that they just released their blog.  The first installment of the blog was written by Dr. Charles J. Fombrun, who is the Chairman and Co-founder of the Reputation Institute.  Dr. Fombrun is considered to be one of the leading scholars and professionals in the world in reputation management.

I found Dr. Fombrun’s post very insightful – he discusses the current status of where businesses are in dealing with these harsh economic times and crises – and how reputation management is the answer for surviving these types of situations.  Also, I thought that it was very proactive and innovative that the Reputation Institute is implementing three different social media groups to discuss issues and topics related to reputation management – LinkedIn, Facebook, and the Reputation blog.  This is a great way to network with other professionals and reseachers through these different social media outlets that are interested in reputation management as well as having the opportunity to generate disscussion about these current key issues.

I am looking forward to future blog posts by the Reputation Institute blog and I would recommend to all of my public relations colleagues – students, professors, and practitioners – that this is a must-read blog for great insight into reputation management.

Hope you all are having a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
