It appears that just in the last couple of months– more people are getting on Facebook.  It was only this past summer that I got on, and then my parents and Kristin all joined in.  It has been a great experience networking and catching up with old friends, while at the same time making connections and meeting new people as well.

But since Facebook is growing so rapidly, business professionals and advertising experts are wondering what they are exactly going to do in terms of their advertisements online. It seems that everyone is on Facebook– from celebrities to politicians to even corporations–everyone has a page! 🙂  It has definitely made an impact.  Now, advertisers and marketers are trying to create more engagement ads to reach out to Facebook users and potential customers– but there are some challenges that the AdAge article points out.  One– marketing and advertising budgets are being cut and second– corporations are all about surviving now.  So, a strong brand and reputation will definitely go a long way, and it appears that the strongest ones will survive.

Also, Facebook was recently in the news for being associated with the Burger King Whopper Sacrifice Campaign, which would give people a free Whopper if they “unfriend” ten of their Facebook friends.  Ouch!  That would hurt! 🙁  If someone did that to you in the first place, they are most likely not a true friend.  I believe in having quality friends instead of quantity– but that is just me. 😉

So basically– it seems that people are going to continue to be creative and strategic in their marketing and advertising strategies.  Some will work, while others won’t– but they will definitely continue to entertain us. 🙂  Hope you all are having a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
