We are seeing more social media classes being offered at universities than ever before. However, how do you get started? What are some opportunities and challenges you need to be aware of before you even begin teaching social media? What are some resources and assignments you can incorporate for your social media?
Well, I hope I will be able to answer some of these questions for you in a few weeks. I am very excited about this upcoming webinar session with Hootsuite.
I have been a very big fan of Hootsuite’s now for years. Ever since I heard about the Hootsuite University program from Dr. William Ward (@Dr4Ward), I have not only been impressed with their services and program, but the great education community they have build.
Each year, they continue to grow and contribute significantly to their higher education programs. With Twitter chat sessions like #HootChat and webinars, Hootsuite is a true leader in providing wonderful resources for students, professors, and practitioners.
In the webinar, I will be talking about how to get started when it comes to designing a social media class, best practices for professors and students to be aware of, and some advice and sample assignments I have used for my social media class here at the University of Louisville.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of the higher education social media community with Hootsuite. Special thanks to the amazing team at Hootsuite and a special shout out to Kimberly Yu and Kirsten Bailey for their support and commitment to students and professors in social media education. You all are doing a tremendous job to help bridge leading edge social media trends to the classroom.
So, if you can register for the free webinar here and if you are not able to make it on June 25th, it will be recorded for later viewing. However, you will need to register so you will be able to get the recorded webinar link in your email.
Also, if you are on Twitter, make sure to use the #TeachSocial hashtag to follow along the conversations as well as connect with fellow professors, students, and professionals interested in higher education and social media.
I hope to see you all on June 25th! If you have any questions in the meantime, please let me know and I would be more than happy to answer them.
Hope you all are having a great day!
