We had our final presentations yesterday in my social media class (or otherwise known as #Freberg15) yesterday. I have to say, I was extremely proud of each and every one of the groups that presented their ideas to their clients yesterday.
Four groups presented their ideas for both Unbridled Eve and the Louisville Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. I would like to thank both Bella Portaro and Gathan Borden for being such amazing clients this semester – you are always welcomed back! The students all learned so much from you and we really do appreciate you taking the time and your continued support.
You can see the updates and what the students shared yesterday for the presentations here on this Storify.
In our presentations, we not only had students and the clients in attendance, but we also had professionals working in social media as well as WDRB, who actually did a story about the class yesterday.
This was the first time we had a TV crew filming and doing a story about the class, which was pretty cool. You can see the segment here on the WDRB website (thanks again Courtney and Chris for organizing this story!)
So, this was the fourth class I have taught since being at the University of Louisville. Each semester is special and the students I have had over the course of these few years have all been very special. #Freberg15 was no exception. Each student walked into class thinking one way about social media, and walked away from the class prepared and have the ability to work and strategically implement ideas in social media. In addition, each class has had their own unique personality and characteristics, which makes each one special.
While #Freberg15 was a college class at UofL, it also represented a community where we all were able to learn from each other. As the professor, I was able to share my ideas and insights on social media strategy, research, and PR. However, the students were able to teach me as well. I was able to get their insights on certain trends and cases they have seen in the news or even some advances in certain industries. As the semester went on, I got to see more and more of this collaborative learning that helped transform this class to what is is today. And I have to thank the students for this as well as the wonderful guest speakers we had this semester.
In summary, it’s been a great semester and one I will always remember. I wish each and every one of the students the very best not only in their future studies, but also in their future careers. Congrats for completing the semester and doing a tremendous job in your proposal presentations – and welcome to entering the group of fellow #FrebergAlum.
Hope you all are having a great day!
Best Wishes,
