Conference presentations? All prepared and multiple copies made! Bags packed?  Of course – one has to have fabulous shoes when presenting. Social media hashtags?  Of course!  How else will I be able to share updates and insights form the conference?  The hashtags are of course recorded and noted. 🙂

As you can see, it is that time of year for conferences!  One of the things I really have enjoyed being a part of the academic and practitioner community is the fact that these events really do bring us all together to discuss research, current practices and trends, and issues that are key within our fields.

Whether it is public relations or crisis communications, or a combination of both along with social media – conferences are an opportunity to network with fellow professionals, meet up with colleagues and friends, and learn new insights and research that can benefit your own line of work in the future.

Over the course of the next two weeks, I will be at three conferences.  Yes, I did say three – the end of May to early June is usually my busiest time of year, but it is certainly fab! 🙂  I will first be heading to Phoenix for the ICA conference.  I have never been to this conference before, but I have been to Phoenix before for track and field meets.  One thing I am going to search for is La Madeline’s – a favorite French restaurant chain I discovered when I was in Dallas back in 2001-2002.  Their tomato sou is FABULOUS! #ica2012

The next conference I will be attending will be the annual Reputation Institute in Milan, Italy.  This is going to be my first trip to Italy, and I am really excited to be in Milan!  Not only will I try to venture and see the historical and art attractions, but I am also going to try to get down to the fashion center capital of the world while I am there.  The Reputation Institute Conference is probably one of my favorite conferences to attend – I have been going every year since 2008.  It’s a fun, energetic, and great networking and learning environment among practitioners and researchers – I am looking forward to this year’s conference. #RI2012

After Milan, I am going to be heading to the Integrate Conference in West Virginia.  It is going to be a fun conference where I am going to be discussing how Master’s students can market themselves for PhD programs.  I think that it is going to be a fun, exciting, and wonderful conference to attend and present at. 🙂 I am looking forward to it! #integrate12

So, as you can see – the next two weeks are going to be pretty busy!  But it will be exciting and I will of course be updating and writing on my blog / Facebook / Twitter during the conferences as well as uploading photos on Instagram.  I may even try to do a video blog – but we will have to wait and see. 🙂

Hope you all are having a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
