I had the chance to talk with Taylor Loren (Hootsuite) a few days ago about how I used Hootsuite University in my social media class at the University of Louisville. I was honored and very excited to be a featured professor on the Hootsuite Blog – thanks so much! 🙂
As I mentioned to Taylor when we talked, I think Hootsuite is transforming itself as the Apple of social media monitoring dashboards. Apple has a very strong relationship with universities, and so does Hootsuite. They have a great University program (I highly recommend it!) and they also have a great community established with their HootCampus Ambassador program as well as a community for professors.

Hootsuite is a great resource not only for professors, but also for students as well. Students are entering into the workforce with the expectation that they know what all of these tools are and how to apply them strategically. Hootsuite University gives these students hands on experience with these tools as well as bridging research (getting practice analyzing and monitoring social media conversations) and practice (applying these findings into message strategies and tactics for brands) effectively.
I would like to thank Taylor and the team at Hootsuite for giving me the opportunity to share my story with them from my social media class at the University of Louisville. I am planning on using Hootsuite University again this fall semester and I am excited to see what my students come up with in class.
