Chips and salsa?  Check!  Team sweatshirts?  Yep.  Social media command center to watch the conversations emerging about the game.  Of course!  Social media has already made an impression on the Super Bowl this year in Indianapolis where the NY Giants play the New England Patriots.

In addition, there is even a social media command center dedicated to making sure that everyone at the game as well as those watching have a positive and engaging experience in the real and digital community.  Not only is the social media command center supposed to be used to monitor and engage in conversations with fans, media, and others watching the Super Bowl, but it will also be used for issues management and looking for any early warning signs that could potentially manifest into a crisis.

Many resources are available to follow not only the game, but also the commercials and advertisements to how to watch the game on your mobile devices.  Several professionals are stating that this is adding another layer to the conversation and experience of the Super Bowl with increased traffic on Twitter.  Brands and advertisers are using various social media platforms to generate hype and excitement about the commercials being showcased during the event.

In summary, there will certainly be a lot to look at and review before, during, and after the Super Bowl.  We will have to see which are the most shared or liked commercials presented during the Super Bowl as well as what were the main topics / key words being communicated during the game.  There will most likely be lots of info graphics such as this one focusing on the game with social media.  Best of luck to both teams and I am looking forward to seeing a game, some fabulous commercials, and participate in some discussion via social media!

Best Wishes,

Karen
