“Since 2005, Time magazine has compiled an annual list of what it deems the best websites of the year. The sites fall into a variety of categories, including news and info, sports, social media, and more. What are the top websites this year? Some better-known sites made the social media category, including Google+, Klout, and Quora. Same deal for sports, with sites like Grantland, Onion Sports Network, and Bleacher Report making the list. “

“It’s getting to be that time of year. Your chances of seeing school supply commercials have increased exponentially. Kids are breaking out last year’s Elmer’s in anticipation of glorious glue feasts. Teens are cramming their entire summer reading into the last week of August. Yep, it’s back to school time, folks.”

“SuperWall I hear you say? Yep, well that’s what they are becoming known as in some parts anyway, that aside, you’ll want to see this very cool interactive superwall in New York City, on 34th street.

It’s for Cinemax’s new show called “Strike Back” and will run for the entire month of August. The SuperWall is essentially a massive interactive digital billboard spanning 18x 46 inch touch screen LCD’s that deliver a multi-faceted experience to passers by, though playing HD video across all screens, or just a few of the screens if they aren’t being used.”

“It’s a tale as old as time. Boy grows up, completely enamored with a computer-generated Italian plumber. He pumps his college fund, in quarter form, into Donkey Kong. Later, he grows inch-thick calluses on his thumbs playing Super Mario Brothers on the original NES. He suffered through Super Mario Sunshine, and has the entire season of Super Mario Adventures, staring Captain Lou Albano as Mario, on DVD. Finally, he marries a nice girl named Pauline, and has three kids: Shigeru, Luigi, and Diddy. Poor Diddy.”

“Blackberry’s BBM and social media have been blamed as one of the facilitating forces behind the London Riots. Their influence was so strong that it lead U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron to inquire into banning suspected criminals from using Facebook, Twitter and other like services. However, should social media be blamed for inciting the violent destruction? What’s Trending took up the topic on our What’s Trending Live show. “
