One of the activities that doctoral students participate in are of course research conferences.  I will have the opportunity to be presenting at the University of Tennessee Research Symposium this upcoming Friday.  The theme of the symposium is Power and Politics:  Communication and Information.  I am very excited about presenting at the symposium.  The title of the paper that I am presenting is “Practitioner or Academic Approach: The Current Direction of U.S. Undergraduate Public Relations Programs.”

I will be presenting during the first session (8:15 am), so that is good. I am looking forward to hearing the different research studies and presentations from fellow communication scholars.  What is really exciting is the fact that not only University of Tennessee faculty and students are participating in the symposium, but students from other universities are coming as well (ex. Alabama and Boston College).   It is a great opportunity to meet other students in the communication fields as well as discussing research with other scholars.  These conferences are a great way to network and share research ideas. 🙂  A few of my friends will be presenting their papers as well in the symposium (Sabrina, Kenon, and Hannah), so I am looking forward to hearing their presentations as well! 🙂

Hope you all are having a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
