Well, it is that time of year where professors and students are submitting their research projects to conferences and getting feedback on whether or not they were accepted.  I am very pleased to announce to you all that I will be presenting at the 14th International Conference on Corporate Reputation, Brand, Identity and Competitiveness in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.  The conference is sponsored by the Reputation Institute – I presented the first time at the RI Conference in 2008 in Beijing, China and last year in Amsterdam.  So I would like to say- Olá! todos! Eu estarei apresentando minha pesquisa em Brasil em maio!

This year, I will be presenting three conference papers – wow!  The first paper is titled “Community Response to the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Ash Spill,” and this paper was written by fellow doctoral students Monica Colon-Aguirre (Information Sciences) and Tatjana Hocke (Public Relations), and Dr. Michael Palenchar.  The second paper is titled “Understanding the effectiveness of a strong online reputation:  Predicting the next social media influencer using the Q-sort” is a project that I worked on with Kristin.  The last is a case study that I worked on by myself titled “Glboal reputation sustainability:  A case study analyzing the responses and factors of the WWF and DDB Brasil ‘Tsunami’ advertisement crisis.”  As you can see, I am going to be pretty busy presenting my various papers – but I am very excited! 🙂

I am looking forward to presenting in Brazil and again at the Reputation Institute.  Kristin and I will be heading down to Brazil in May when the semester and classes are over – and in the meantime, we are both actively researching and learning about the Brazilian culture, food, and atmosphere.  We are both very excited about listening to the various research presentations, meet leading scholars and professionals in the reputation management field, and network with fellow students and scholars.

Hope you all are having a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
