I am going to be presenting at the upcoming AEJMC Conference in Montreal this week. This summer has been non-stop travel for me, but it’s been very rewarding both professionally as well as personally. This is going to be my last conference for the summer before the start of the fall semester.
This conference in one of my favorites and I get to be presenting a poster on some crisis research and I will also be participating in a panel session on teaching with mobile applications, where I will be focusing on Google Glass. I am excited about these two presentations and seeing everyone.
When I am not presenting, I will mostly be behind my computer screen sharing updates on social media, taking pictures with my Glass, and sharing content via my phone. Yes, I will be one with technology for the next few days as part of the AEJMC PRD social media team.
What does the PRD social media team do exactly for the AEJMC Conference? Here are some of the things to expect to see in Montreal for the team:
- We will be updating content on a regular basis on all of our platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- There will be a post after each conference day featuring the top updates from Storify.
- The team members will be actively covering each of the sessions to provide updates to the PRD community.
- Along with content, the social media team will be engaged with generating excitement about a few social media contest initiatives we have for the conference. Stay tuned to this on the social media channels.
I am very fortunate and lucky to have such an awesome (and if I say so fabulous) team on board for the conference. Dave Remund (Oregon), Geah Pressgrove (WVU), Melissa Dodd (UCF), Diana Sission (University of South Carolina) and Kelly Vibber (University of Dayton) have been absolutely amazing professionals to work with this year. The success the team has had this year is all due to the hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm these professionals have! They are truly the best in the business and have been a pleasure to work with this year. Thanks fabulous team!
It’s been awesome to be on this committee and the AEJMC PRD leadership has been super supportive. We have a great community of #prprofs here and we are all very excited to see everyone in Montreal.
Have a great day everyone!
Best Wishes,
Karen
