The AEJMC Conference in Denver so far has been a wonderful experience for me. I left from Knoxville on Tuesday to head to Colorado, and I arrived immediately to the conference hotel to catch up with fellow attendees and colleagues.
The first full day I was at the conference was spent attending a couple of interesting presentations, meeting and networking with fellow researchers and professors, and catching up with fellow friends. It was great to catch up wi some of my friends from UNC and other doctoral students from the Crisis and Risk Seminar I went to in Detroit back in June. Very fabulous! In addition – I got a chance to spend some time with graduates of the Ph.D program at UT – it was great to see you all! 🙂
What I have really enjoyed so far about the AEJMC#10 Conference has been their strategic implementation of social media. from setting up the official hash tag for the conference to having a tweet up to having an official check in on Foursquare. This is very cool and cutting edge! in addition, I have really enjoyed meeting new professors and doctoral students – everyone is energetic about the conference and we have really had some enlightening discussions on social media. Just fabulous!
So, what is next at the AEJMC#10 Conference? I will continue to attend the presentations and division socials, as well as networking with fellow PR and communication scholars. I will also be continuing to update on my blog and Twitter account, thanks to my iPad (absolutely a fabulous tool for professionals and students at conferences!). To learn more about what is going on at the AEJMC conference, search for #AEJMC10 on Twitter or check out their Tumblr site.
Hope you all are having a fabulous day!
Best Wishes,
Karen
