Hello from Barcelona!  I am here with Kristin, Scott, and my good friend Sabrina for the Reputation Institute Conference in Spain. We arrived here on Tuesday (I know, it was a quick turnaround for me from the Integrate Conference), but we landed in Spain and immediately hit the road!

The first couple of days were dedicated to playing tourist around the city. We were able to walk around and see the gorgeous sites all around. The architecture around the city is just extraordinary. It’s been wonderful to be able to soak in the atmosphere all over the city.

Here are a couple of my Ptchs from my time in Barcelona:

RI 2013 Conference Day One

Our panel presentation at RI 2013

Our presentation at the RI Conference was on the second day, and it was a wonderful experience to be a part of. We all got a chance to present (we have video, so I will make sure to post this asap), and the reaction we got was very good. Our project focused on creating a new model looking at reputation in a crisis by discussing reputation dissonance while looking at the role a spokesperson has on a corporation and their own reputation.

This was a fun project to be a part of and just another start in a line of research that would benefit both researchers and practitioners as well. Many people have asked us for a copy of our paper, so that was very exciting! 🙂 It was also great to see fellow professionals from previous conferences and meet professionals I have connected with on social media in person at the conference. It is always exciting to meet fellow colleagues and met new friends as well!

Overall, I have really enjoyed being in Barcelona – it is truly a magical place and enjoyed every minute here. RI has done another exceptional job with hosting a wonderful conference where we heard some great presentations and were able to share our insights and research to a global community. This is my sixth conference – which is pretty amazing! It’s definitely a must-go for me in terms of conferences.

Hope you all are having a great day!

Best Wishes,
Karen
