It appears that May seems to be the month where I do the most traveling to conferences – which is completely fine with me! 🙂 Ever since I started as a PhD student at Tennessee, the month of May means traveling and presenting at fabulous conferences.  One conference in particular that I have thoroughly enjoyed and consider to be one of my favorites to attend is the Reputation Institute Conference.

#

The first one I presented in was back in 2008 in Beijing – and I really had a great time meeting and talking with professionals and researchers around the world, and it was exciting to see new insights and research in the area of reputation management.  Next was Amsterdam followed by Rio de Janeiro last year.

This year, the conference is in New Orleans, and already I am having a great time.  The conference does not officially start until tomorrow and I will be presenting on Thursday.  The topic of the presentation (along with Dr. Michael Palenchar) focuses on the opportunities and challenges of social media and mobile technologies in reputation management and crisis communication practices.  Fabulous! 🙂  I am looking forward to it!

My time in New Orleans has been great so far – I spent my first dinner at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans where I had an amazing dinner at Domenica – a restaurant by John Besh, and he created this restaurant to focus on fresh Italian cuisine from those that came from Italy and migrated to Louisiana. Everything was so delicious and amazing – a foodie paradise!  Great service and wonderful food – perfect combination! 🙂

The RI Conference will start tomorrow and will go for the next couple of days, but I will make sure on my blog to share with you updates and the latest from the conference.  I am looking forward to hearing some great sessions, presentations, networking with fellow professionals, and meeting up with fellow colleagues and friends.

Have a wonderful day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
