Hello everyone! I am now back in Knoxville after spending a few days in Boston for the AEJMC conference. Overall, it was very insightful and great. I really had a wonderful time at the conference meeting new people and catching up with old friends. Here are some of the highlights of the conference in my point of view:
PR Division Poster Session at AEJMC Conference
Great research presentations. I had the chance to attend some of the research presentations on Wednesday through Friday, and all were really amazing. I got the chance to go to the Best Practices in Public Relations with Social Media on Wednesday (absolutely amazing) and I also got the chance to see my colleagues present their research as well. Everyone did really well! 🙂
Welcome Gathering at AEJMC Conference
Best Social – USC Annenberg’s Social at AEJMC. At the AEJMC conference, numerous universities hosted their own socials where professors and students were able to get together and network. I had the chance to go to several during the conference – the PR Division Social (hosted by UT’s very own Lisa Fall), the IPRRC / Florida / Boston Univ. Social, and UT hosted their own social for alum and current professors and students. I also had the opportunity to attend the USC Annenberg Social – and let’s say that USC did an absolutely fabulous job!! The social was held outside by the pool at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston (where the conference was held) and USC had banners, a booth with USC materials, and live music. It was a very friendly atmosphere and it was wonderful meeting friends and fellow colleagues. Fight on! 🙂
Meeting up with old friends & making new friends. It was great to catch up with my friends that graduated from UT last year. It was also great to meet up with professors that I took classes from at USC (Jerry Swerling and Craig Carroll) and making new friends as well! What was really neat was that I was able to meet professionals and students that I met via social media at AEJMC as well – it was great to see you all! 🙂
I also really enjoyed sightseeing Boston and visiting family as well these past couple of days. Boston has so much history to explore and soak in that we really had to power sight see! I also enjoyed my time with my second cousin Ingrid – we had an amazing time at dinner at Haro in Boston (fabulous sushi and their tempura cheesecake was to die for! I suggested that Dad should try to make it for us one day.. :))
Overall, AEJMC was very enjoyable – I would like to thank AEJMC and everyone in Boston for making my time in the city so enjoyable! Here is a link for more pictures that I took while I was in Boston.
