Christmas decorations. Snow flurries.  Exams.  Writing various papers and preparing for presentations.  Yes, it is that time of year– it’s December and finals week here at the University of Tennessee! 🙂  Wow, it is absolutely amazing how this year has flown on by!  I keep telling people that it seems just yesterday that we were ringing in the New Year!  I was actually doing that with Kris in Hawaii at the Aloha Tower (good times!), and now 2009 is coming up.  Woo hoo! 🙂

As classes are winding down, that means only one thing:  finals.  For graduate students, this means presentations and papers.  I remember when I was an undergraduate at Florida, and I thought that a big paper was 10 pages. Now, I am having a hard time sticking to 30-40 pages! 🙂  It’s been great, and I feel like I am getting a wonderful education here at the University of Tennessee in the Ph.D. program.  I am just about to finish my fourth semester of classes in my program– WOW!  Before you know it, I will be finishing up my course work, taking comp exams, and writing my dissertation!  Whoa, that is deep– it makes me think! (A popular saying that my high school teacher at Arroyo Grande Mr. Foster would say in class). 🙂  It’s all good times! 🙂

By the way, congratulations to Lane Kiffin on becoming the UT Football Head Coach!  Kiffin was the former Oakland Raiders coach and was an assistant to Pete Carroll at USC (Fight On!).  It is going to be exciting to see what Kiffin brings to the football team and I wish him and the players all the best. 🙂

Hope you all are having a wonderful day! 🙂

Best Wishes,

Karen
