Besides attending and presenting at conferences, one of the things that doctoral students and professors also participate in are seminars in their respected fields.  Some seminars require you to apply to see if you get accepted to attend the seminar.  Well, I have some exciting news to share with you all.  I just found out yesterday that I have been accepted to attend the 2010 Summer Doctoral Seminar at Wayne State University on Risk and Crisis Communications.  I am very honored and excited to be part of this doctoral seminar.  This is going to be a wonderful opportunity for me both academically and professionally.  It will be very neat to meet fellow scholars in the risk and crisis communications discipline and discuss current issues and events in the field.

It is going to be a busy summer for me – in less than a month, I will be on my way to present at the Reputation Institute Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  Shortly after this conference, I will be heading to Boston to present at the Association for Psychological Science Annual Convention (APS) in Boston, MA.  A few days later, I will be heading to West Virginia University to be part of the IMC Faculty and Student Weekend (super excited!).  Then I am off to Wayne State University in Michigan for the doctoral seminar on risk and crisis communications.  Wow! 🙂  It is going to be pretty busy for me, but that is totally fine with me – I am very excited about being part of these conferences and attending these prestigious events. 🙂

Hope you all are having a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
