One of the things that all doctoral students have to do before they are able to start on their dissertation is go through the comprehensive exam process. At the University of Tennessee, this occurs after you have completed all of your coursework – which I did this past fall semester. After completing the comprehensive exam process by taking the exams and successfully defending in your oral defense, the doctoral student becomes a doctoral candidate and ABD (All but Dissertation).
Well, I am happy and excited to announce that I am now a doctoral candidate in Public Relations and I am currently in the process 0n working on my dissertation proposal. I am very excited about going on to this next step in the PhD process. I am still getting used to the fact that I can call myself a doctoral candidate, but that is all good with me! 🙂 In addition, I bought a few new business cards as a Doctoral Candidate – has a much nice ring to it! This is definitely timely since I will be presenting at conferences and attending workshops in the next month.
Hope you all are having a great day!
Best Wishes,
Karen
