It is amazing how fast this year has gone by – I was talking with a few of my friends from Tennessee and it seems that we have been so busy with school, research, and other things that the year seemed to have flown on by!

A lot of changes are happening right now – some students are graduating and going off to their first assistant professor positions while others are just beginning their dissertation process.ย  Others have finished their first year of coursework – congrats! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  That is a good feeling.ย  My cohort and friends are also celebrating – we have finished our second year in the doctoral program – and we are technically finished with all of our coursework.ย  Wow! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  That is amazing! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I actually have a couple of additional classes that I want to take in the fall for my program, but I have fulfilled all of the required classes.

I also realized just a few weeks ago that I have been in Tennessee the same amount of time as I was a graduate student at USC.ย  That is just amazing to me – these past two years have really gone by fast!ย  But it has been such a wonderful experience for me – I have been working with amazing professors and taking really insightful classes both in PR and in Marketing, and made some wonderful friends along the way.ย  Even though some of my friends are graduating or moving away – I will definitely keep in touch with them and we will always have conferences (and Facebook!) ๐Ÿ™‚

So – what is up next for me? Well, I am off to spend a couple of weeks with my family out in California – I am SO excited!ย  I haven’t been home since Christmas – I am really looking forward to seeing Mom, Dad, and Karla.ย  Then I will be doing three conferences in three weeks.ย  Yes – you heard me correctly, I did say three! ๐Ÿ™‚

I first have APS in San Francisco, and then I will be in Amsterdam at the end of the month at the Reputation Institute Conference.ย  I am in the interactive poster sessionย  at the conference, and I am really excited to go and meet fellow students and professionals in the field.ย  I will be in Amsterdam a few days after the conference to explore the beauty and culture of Amsterdam – and then I fly back to Tennessee for a couple of days.ย  In the beginning of June, I will be off to Athens to present at another research conference. Lots of traveling – but I am very excited about it! ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope that you all are having a great day! ๐Ÿ™‚

Best Wishes,

Karen
