As I tell my students, everything starts with a blog and a website!
In just the few weeks of the Spring 2011 semester, I have been thoroughly impressed with the level of commitment, creativity, and insights about social media among the students in our Social Media class at Tennessee, as well as other students from my IMC Online Graduate courses as well. So, what I would like to do is recognize these students who have really done a fabulous job in their posts with a new feature on my blog that will be dedicated to discussing some of these great student posts:
Tennessee Student Blog Posts
- What “Momzillas” and the Egyptian Protests Can Teach Us about Social Media (PR from the OR) – Very interesting insights about the latest coverage going on in Egypt while relating it to the role of technology and its impact on human interactions
- State of the what? (Life in Definitions): Here is a post that integrates several funny and intriguing visuals portraying social media sites in a very unique way. 🙂
- Social Media for Social Good (Life Through My Eyes): Very good post discussing the role of social media and how it can be used for good and supporting particular causes and creating an engaging online community.
- Appalachia: Knoxville’s hidden heritage pt. 1 (Something Clever): Great post discussing a hidden gem Appalachia around the Tennessee area
IMC WVU Student Blog Posts
- BuzzSiekman: One of my students from my online IMC 618 class just started his blog in the IMC program at WVU – great job so far Chris! 🙂
- Kim’s Korner: A very creative and colorful blog that provides excellent insights and commentary about current issues and trends in IMC
Overall, it has been really fun reading all of these blog posts and see the creativity, engagement, and integration of new emerging technology in discussing key issues and trends relevant to public relations, advertising, and integrated marketing communications. Keep up the great work everyone! 🙂
