On my blog, I have talked a lot about athletes who have participated in negative activities or have been labeled as being “PR Nightmares.” I came across this interesting post that was on Fox Sports that listed the top ten athletes that were considered to be “Human Train Wrecks.” Some of the names that were listed in this post included OJ Simpson, Tonya Harding, Mike Tyson, and Dennis Rodman to name a few.
The thing to note is that there are a lot of athletes that should be included on this list. What about Floyd Landis? How about Marion Jones or Barry Bonds? I would consider that these athletes are current examples of athletes that have had a lot of negative publicity recently and their image and perception among sports fans has changed forever– and it’s not for good reasons either.
To sum it up– there are many athletes that have participated in many negative situations and have been in trouble. But there are those athletes that are representing those sports proudly and are excellent role models for young athletes. They may be hard to find– but they are out there. You just have to look hard for them.
These are just a few of my thoughts on the subject. Hope you all are having a great day!
Best Wishes,
Karen 🙂
