Chatting with fellow professionals about work and research is always enjoyable. But when it is one of the leading professionals in the field, it’s especially rewarding. This is what happened this past week with Melissa Agnes.

Kristin and I had the opportunity to chat with Melissa Agnes on her crisis communications podcast about our research work into crisis message strategies. Melissa has set herself to be a powerful force in the field with a strong podcast, a terrific blog with amazing resources for professionals and students, and an amazing career as a consultant and keynote speaker.

Plus, I have had the chance to have Melissa speak to both my social media and crisis classes over the years, and she has always been a favorite among my classes.

Kristin and I talked with Melissa about a range of topics on our research and collaborative efforts with Firestorm Solutions. We discussed primarily what we presented at the ICRC 2015 Conference (as highlighted in this great post by Kristin) as well as previous research exploring crisis messages and what components are necessary to include for professionals and organizations. It was a dynamic and enlightening discussion. It’s not every day you get a chance to speak with two amazing ladies about work in the field and where you are going to go forward with next.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Melissa for this amazing opportunity. You are truly a trailblazer in the field and a true thought leader in the field. Keep up the amazing work! Make sure to subscribe to The Crisis Intelligence podcast on iTunes or Stitcher.

Hope you all are having a great day.

Best Wishes,
