Hello from Knoxville!
Yes, I am in the land of Toby Keith, Elvis, and the great Tennessee Volunteers! 🙂 Mom and I arrived yesterday and hit the ground running with many things to do and see! What is amazing is the fact that it is only when you move that you really realize how much stuff you actually have! 🙂 Boxes, boxes, and more boxes! 🙂
Today, I took the first step in my Ph.D. program. I had my orientation at UT today, and it was really exciting! First, I got a chance to meet all of the first year Ph.D. students in the program. It was really neat to meet everyone and realize that we all come from different programs and backgrounds. Then, we had lunch where I got to meet my first year advisor and the rest of the Ph.D. students and UT faculty! They were so friendly and helpful (especially Angela & Jessica) and I really felt welcome! Thanks! 🙂
What is up next? Well, I have a few days to get organized for my classes and my new place, and explore the great town of Knoxville! So many places to see, so little time! 🙂 I am really looking forward to beginning this new chapter in my life! 🙂
