a little too close!

Since my time here in South Africa, I have had a wonderful opportunity to study a lot of animals– and that’s what I have been doing for the past couple of days!  That is right, I visited one of the most recognizeable game parks in the world, Kruger National Park.

The day started off on Monday heading out there as a group with our tour guides, Nomad Tours, for a six hour drive.  It went by really fast– the wonderful landscape of Africa is marvelous.

guess who?

At Kruger, we participated on five game drives– and all I have to say is AMAZING!!!!!!!!  We saw SO many things– elephants, baboons, giraffes, and even a lioness.  Just walking on the side of the road!  Nice kitty! 🙂

What was really great about this trip is that after the long day of driving and looking for animals, we all gathered and set up camp and braii. ( Braii: that’s a barbecue for all you yankees)  The food was so good!!!!!!  Sorry, Jenny– I did enjoy myself! 😀  We also toasted marshmellows and played camp fire games and looked up at the stars– WOW!

elephants!!!!

I would recommend this experience to anyone– it is something that I will always remember!  It was a perfect way to finish up my trip in South Africa. 🙂

Have a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen 🙂

[…] Kruger National Park:  This is an absolute must!  What an amazing park!  We got to see four of the big five animals when we were down there (elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, and water buffalo).  It was really amazing because we got to go on a safari and camp out and have braii (bar-b-que South African style).  It was SOOOO much fun!!!   An experience that you will never forget!
