The weather here in Cape Town has been a bit rainy and cold (well– it’s winter here!), and it is the perfect time to explore another wonderful pastime– SHOPPING! 🙂
Experienced travelers or internet shoppers know the importance of buying the right size of clothes or shoes. Manufacturers sizes vary even within the same country and it depends on what system of measurement each country uses that helps determine what is right for you!
South African fashions are wonderful, but I had to become acquainted with the sizes first.
As you can see, buying in South Africa depends on what system they are using. I have found the British system, the European system and the South African System. I don’t know if I have the heart to tell Mom that she is a size 82 or 87!
When I first saw the numbers I thought WOW! I knew I hadn’t gained any weight or did I? Thanks to the glories of the internet I found this sizing chart Anyway, I am relieved! Actually I have slimmed a little bit!So, don’t be afraid to shop on line if you are armed with the information!
So Shop until you drop! Have fun! 🙂
Best Wishes,
Karen 🙂

Hi Karen
The international sizes certainly can be very confusing. I’m a personal shopper in South Africa and I find tht many of my international clients get frustrated. Thanks for these charts.
All the best!
