Astronomy has always been a family hobby

I love looking at the  Southern Cross  (this picture came from Namibia). I first saw it when I arrived in New Zealand when I was very young.

The Southern Cross is emblematic of the Southern Hemisphere and symbolic of the many groups of people living below the equator. In fact, quite a few countries have adopted the Southern Cross into their flags! Of course, in addition, water flows down the drain in the opposite direction from us here in the Northern Hemisphere! It’s all very exciting!

So much to see!
