I have posted a couple of times on this issue– student-athletes are faced with many challenges and obstacles that range from performing well in both on the field and in the classroom. I came across this comic this morning, and it shows that there is a certain stereotype against student-athletes and what classes / majors they are in.

Sure, there may be some athletes that take their athletics more seriously than their academics, but the vast majority are looking towards the future. I know many athletes that are in graduate school and doing well in the workplace. I consider myself one of these individuals– I’m almost done with my first year at Tennessee in the Ph.D. program, and I have a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. I’m also going to be presenting a research paper in a couple of months in China (very exciting!). So, in closing– student-athletes indeed do well in life after athletics. 🙂

Just a few thoughts on the subject. 🙂 Have a great day! 🙂

Best Wishes,

Karen
