You may be thinking that the title of my blog post is something from Star Trek. Well, it is similar, but it is targeted to the first Twitter update from the astronauts that are at the Space Station!
We are living in an age where social media is a way to make connections and communicate all over the world, and now in space. When you think about it – this is very innovative and life changing. There have been a lot of discussion and papers written about the impact of social media on businesses, how it is being used in handling a crisis situation, and reaching out and helping in a time in need (ex. Haiti Earthquake). But, it is also being used now for communicating to the world from places where we would have never have thought of before. It was only a matter of time before Twitter would be used in new ways – and this is the first time in space. Wow! 🙂 Technology is changing each day, and we are indeed living in an exciting time. 🙂
