When I was looking at the various football scores from this past weekend, I noticed an interesting article that appeared on Yahoo! News. This article talks about most of the college football coaches are “paranoid” about people watching their practices. It’s amazing to see what lengths these coaches go through to make sure that their practices are “secure.” Yesh!

The University of Southern California Trojans -- Fight On!

One coach – in fact – in the NCAA, known for holding open practices, is of course Pete Carroll. I have to say, this is really a smart move on so many levels. First, it is creating transparency among the fans, media, and others in the SC Community. Also, by having open practices, it allows people an insight into what it is like to be at a USC football practice, which will generate interest into the program. A key thing that Carroll is also doing is showing people, sure– come to our practices, we have nothing to hide! USC Football also has a neat blog too– check it out! 🙂

By standing out like this, it makes the other NCAA football coaches look less open. What Pete Carroll is doing is great PR and setting the gold standard, so keep up the great work! 🙂

Have a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen 🙂
