It seems like every place has their set of phrases and interesting words to describe certain thing. I would say that the US (especially in California) is known for saying things are “awesome” and “cool dude!” to name a few. Since I have been working in Cape Town as a PR Intern for Total Media, I have noticed many of these phrases in the profession. Here are some of them:
“Fab” or “FaBUlous.”: This means great, wonderful, just so chique– I have totally picked this up from my co-workers– just so fab! 🙂
“So DIVINE” / “That is just so divine dahling”: Everyone says this which is really neat– it sounds so sophisticated! 🙂 I have been saying that to a few people from my class and everyone was like– whoa! Very neat as well.
I will try to write down things that I feel are interesting and that can give you all an insight into what it’s like to be a PR Intern in South Africa. From just what I have done so far this week– it has been AMAZING!!!! So much to do in so little time!
