What can you do that is fun, in the outdoors, and it is something related to what the character Rhino does in the movie “Bolt?” So – the question is… got zorbing?!!
Well, if you answered zorbing – you are correct! Yes, I went out zorbing this weekend with a few of my friends from Tennessee. Zorbing is all about globe riding, where you are in a Zorb globe ball and you roll down a hill. It was originally from New Zealand and has grown in popularity since its creation 14 years ago. The only place in the United States that has a zorbing facility is in Pigeon Forge, TN! That is perfect since it is only about 40 – 60 minutes away from lovely Knoxville. So exciting and definitely a must do for my friends and I.
So, after careful planning and preparation – my friends and I decided that we would go out this weekend to Pigeon Forge to be one with the zorb ball. We arrived around 10:30, and we each had to fill out an information form, get weighed (there is a height and weight limit to go zorbing – so this is another reason why I am very happy that I have been on my Jenny Craig diet now for almost three years!), and then we decided which type of zorbing we wanted to do. There are two options – one is going down a straight trail where you are strapped in, and the other is where you have water inside the ball and the trail that you go down is more of a zig-zag. So… which one did I chose? Of course the second option!
The ride itself lasted about a minute, but it felt a lot longer. It was almost like a water slide ride in a way – it was SO much fun! I was laughing and having a wonderful time all the way down the hill. At the end of the ride, we got to see what pictures we got of us during the ride. Usually, most of the amusement parks and attractions give you one picture and it costs like $30.
However, what was SO amazing and unique about the Zorbing Smoky Mountains attraction is that for about $20, you got pictures of the entire ride – so I ended up getting like 20 pictures from where I started the ride to the bottom where I jumped next to the zorb ball.
Overall, the employees and those working at the Zorb Smoky Mountains facilities were just amazing and really made the experience a memorable one. If you want to have a fun, exciting, unique, and once-in-a-lifetime experience in the Smoky Mountains – definitely go zorbing! It is so worth it! 🙂 I will certainly be back when Kristin comes back to the States. 🙂
Hope you all are having a great day!
Best Wishes,
Karen
