Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope that you all have a marvelous and wonderful day with your friends or family.  During my time here at Tennessee, I have gone over to one of my friend’s places for Thanksgiving, and the same goes for this year.  My friend Sabrina has invited me over for the holidays – looking forward to it!  My parents have already talked about what they were making for Thankgiving dinner, and I of course am totally having a foodie envy moment! 🙂

Thanksgiving is a time to say and give  thanks – to people who have made an impact in our lives and make them wonderful to good health – to even fabulous technology.  JESS3 created an infographic which was interesting to see exactly what others on the web are thankful for – the first most popular group was of course people (friends, family, etc) followed by self experiences and inspiration.  So, what I am I thankful for?  Well, here are a few things:

My family: My family has been so amazing – they are supportive, encouraging, happy, and are fabulous!  Dad, Mom, Kristin, and Karla are very special to me – and I am very thankful to have them in my lives. 🙂  I am really looking forward to spending Christmas at home this year with all of them.  Love you guys!

My friends: I have been very fortunate to have some great friends who have been there for me with their support and we have had some great times together going for coffee or to the movies, or out and about with shopping activities.  It has been a blast!

My health: I have now been on Jenny Craig for four years (WOW!) and losing the weight has been very good for my health.  I am eating healthy and actively working out with exercise classes.  It has been great!

Technology:  I wouldn’t be a social media PR person if I didn’t say I was thankful for technology – it is very fabulous!! 😀  From the iPhone to the iPad – it is great to see the emerging technology evolve and constantly change. 🙂

Being an American:  I am very thankful to those that have served or are currently serving our country proudly overseas, and who are protecting our freedoms on a daily basis.  Thank you to all of the armed men and women currently serving our country in the armed forces.

Experiences: I am very thankful for the experiences and opportunities I have gotten over the last year that have really helped me grow and mature as not only a scholar, but as a person as well.  Traveling and presenting in Rio de Janeiro in May was one of these experiences, along with going to APS and WVU to my recent trip out to CA for NCA.  I am also thankful as well for the experience I had in presenting at new prestigious government agency conferences in September.

Food Adventures:  I would not be a Freberg if I didn’t say I was thankful to having amazing food cuisines and adventures! 🙂  I am really looking forward to Christmas and cooking with the family – yum! 🙂

I hope you all have a wonderful, safe, and happy Thanksgiving!

Best Wishes,

Karen
