Another birthday has come and gone for me (the big 29 – wow! ) and it does make a girl think. 🙂  I had the chance to invite some of my friends from Tennessee up to Louisville for the weekend to see the sites and play tourist around the area.  This is the first time for some of my friends to the area, so I thought we would see my new home in style!

My friends and I at Churchill Downs

We of course went to one of the iconic attractions in the Louisville area – Churchill Downs – where the Kentucky Derby was held.  We were able to get tours to check out the barns and see the horses on the race track (very cool!) as well as the grand stands.  The facilities were beautiful and I can only imagine what it is like during race day – most likely very amazing and fabulous! 🙂

Stephanie and Monica getting ready to play paintball

So – another thing that we did as well as play paintball.  Yes, that is correct – we thought that it would be fun to shoot paint at each other. It was a lot of fun and we got to do something that was unique and a first for everyone!  We all walked away with some battle scars, but also some excellent stories to tell as well! 🙂

Louisville is also known for its great local restaurants, and we were very pleased with the selections we made in this category.  We had lunch both at a cuban restaurant (Havana Rumba) and a mexican-sushi place (YES!  That is correct!) called Dragon King’s Daughter.  The food was all fabulous and the girls really enjoyed it!

Overall, it was a great and fabulous weekend – and I am glad that I got to share these experiences with my friends and show them around my new home in Louisville! 🙂

Hope you all are having a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
