Have you always wondered what has to go into game notes for a USC football game?  What about the daily activities and demands of a sports information director?  Also, how would you develop a communication and crisis plan for the LA Lakers?  You can learn all of this in one class– Sports Public Relations.  One of the classes that I am taking this semester is

Sports Public Relations

This is technically an undergraduate class, but USC allows all the graduate students at Annenberg to take two.  I was really excited that I was able to take this class, because this is what I would like to pursue after I am done with school. 🙂

One of the perks of this class are the field trips that we get to go on.  For example, we got to go to the USC vs. Oregon State basketball game and see how the Sports Information Department works and operates during the game.  We had to enter through the media entrance of the Galen Center, and we got a quick tour of the facilities before the game, and then we hung out with the rest of the media and enjoyed the game!

After the game (USC won of course!), we got a chance to listen in to Head Basketball Coach Tim Floyd’s press conference.  He stopped by and said hi, which was really nice. 🙂  Overall, it was a GREAT experience! 🙂

I hope you all are having a great day!  Fight on! 🙂

Best Wishes,

Karen
