Even though the Super Bowl is over and we have to wait for a while for the football season, there is one PR Nightmare crisis that is still making headlines.  I have posted previously on the New England Patriots and the taping scandal heard around the world.  But recently, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick recently made a statement regarding the situation.  Here is what he said in a Yahoo! Sports news article:

“In my entire coaching career, I’ve never seen another team’s practice film prior to playing that team.  I have never authorized, or heard of, or even seen in any way, shape, or form any other team’s walkthrough. We don’t even film our own.”

I don’t know about you, but I think that this statement is even going to make things worse for the Patriots and Belichick for many reasons.  First, Belichick is denying the fact that he ever taped any other team– even thought there is evidence to the contrary.  Second, if there is more evidence brought up that not only shows that the Patriots taped the St. Louis Rams, but other teams– that will be a problem.  I think that this situation is going to develop even more, and the PR implications are huge not only for the Patriots, but for the NFL.

In this case, I think that the NFL needs to take a firm stand and address this PR Nightmare professionally and in a timely manner.

Hope you all are having a great day! 🙂

Best Wishes,

Karen 🙂
