Well, it seems that I have been posting on just PR Nightmares for the past couple of weeks! There have been a ton of them in the news! But I wanted a change of pace, and that his why I am going to talk about those that are doing the right thing in terms of PR, which I would call “PR Stars.” 🙂

Getting YOUR message across clearly is the main goal of Public Relations

I might be a little biased since I am a USC alum, :), but I got the chance to see Coach Pete Carroll first hand in action when I was competing in track and field in 2006. He is so energetic and enthusiastic when you see him with the football players, but what is also amazing is that he also takes the time to stop and talk to other USC athletes. I remember working out at Heritage Hall and I would see Coach Carroll working out and he would say hi and ask how things were going. Pretty neat and what great PR! 🙂

I have to say that I have been very impressed with the way that USC has handled itself after their loss to Stanford. Coach Pete Carroll and the USC Football team has acted very professionally and really are effective in their PR strategies. A clear example of this is their blog and their USCRipit web site. I am very impressed by both of these items. The blog by Ben Malcolmson gives the readers an insight into what goes on inside the football team, so you feel like you are part of the team as well.

I really like the web site for the USC football team— they have so many different features on it– from videos, articles, and many links to different web sites. It’s fun to look at some of the videos– I highly recommend looking at these! 🙂 Pictures and videos really show what it means to be part of the USC football team. So, I think that if more teams and athletes would look at the USC Football team and see how they manage their image & PR– then maybe we won’t have as many PR Nightmares! 🙂

Keep up the great work Coach Pete Carroll & USC and Fight On! 🙂

Best Wishes,

Karen 🙂
