It seems that no matter where you go, your reputation will always follow. This is the case with Justin Gatlin, who recently has tried to establish himself in another sport, which is football. Gatlin participated in several workouts with several NFL teams, and the Texans decided not to sign him a few days ago. The Texans said that they were really impressed with Gatlin’s speed, but it wasn’t enough to have them sign Gatlin.
This is a case where no matter what you do, people will always look at your reputation and decide on your future based on what people have said about you, and what you have done. Even though football is another sport, it seems that Gatlin’s reputation in track and being banned from the sport for eight years is following him wherever he goes. The most valuable asset that an athlete has today is their reputation, and when it is lost, it’s gone forever. The advice that I would give Gatlin is to hang up his shoes, and close this chapter of his life.
