Here is what I am reading today:
“From the moment the first jolt was felt in Tokyo, there was no doubt — the earthquake, tsunami, and subsequent tragedy was going to play out first on the social web, and second on television. Within an hour of the 8.9 magnitude earthquake, which occurred on a bright afternoon in Japan, Twitter updates were flying out of Asia at the rate of over 1,200 per minute, while Facebook posts, photos, videos, and blog updates were streaming in just behind.”
“Businesses are under pressure to crack the social media code. There’s all those tools and platforms to harness, and all those best practices to adopt. Staying on top of it is exhausting. Staying ahead of it is almost impossible.”
“Last month, we launched a new monthly B2B expert roundtable series titled: B2B Marketing – In 140 Words Or Less. The intent is to start conversations on the toughest topics facing today’s B2B marketing community. Our goal – shape it’s future. Our first question started at the top by asking what should be a CMO’s top priority. This month, we turned to our experts seeking advice on social media and public relations. I asked and they answered.
Social and PR. Friends or Enemies? From your perspective, how is social media impacting public relations in 2011?
Read what the roundtable participants have to say. Then get involved and share your expert opinion.”
