Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. It is a time where families come to celebrate each other’s company and we get to reflect on the year and look forward to the upcoming year. 2011 has been a year of great change and momentous occasions for the Freberg family.
Kristin graduated with her second master’s from the University of Virginia and is now teaching out West Point. Plus, Kristin got engaged a few days ago to Scott, and the wedding will be for next summer. Congrats Kristin and Scott! Welcome to the Freberg family!
Dad continues to create the most amazing and fabulous meals – and we had the chance to experience this yesterday at Grandma’s ranch with the rest of the extended family. Ribs, steaks, spirakopita, potatoes, Angry Bird gingerbread cookies (of course!), salad, and many more goodies were there for everyone to enjoy! Dad is truly one of the best chefs I know and his meals are always exquisite – it has been very special for me to cook with Dad in the kitchen and learn from him. Dad has been busy contributing to his blog and writing for the CalCoastNews – love reading his posts! 🙂 Dad will also be off on an exciting adventure next year in South Africa where he will be going on a safari near Johannesburg. Super excited for Dad – I think he will real like South Africa and enjoy his time there. 🙂
Mom continues to do well in her teaching (she is the original Dr. Freberg 2.0) and is finishing up her Intro to Psychology textbook with our friend Dr. John Cacioppo. It has been truly fun working with Mom on various projects and learning from her in teaching and research. 🙂
Karla continues to work on her art which has been presented and shown at the Mid State Fair and her work has also been shared on Facebook. Karla was very nice in creating an “Angry Cardinals” picture for my office at Louisville. It was quite a hit among some of my friends and colleagues at Louisville. Karla is a very talented artist! 🙂
For me, well – 2011 was a big year for me. I became Dr. Freberg 2.0 and graduated from Tennessee in May and moved to Louisville to start my new position at the University of Louisville. I have had the chance to present at several conferences and continue to grow as a scholar and person. It was a fabulous year overall and I have many wonderful memories from all of these experiences. I am very fortunate to have such a wonderful family and friends. 🙂
I wish you all a wonderful, fabulous, and Merry Christmas!
Best Wishes,
Karen
