Turkey, cornbread, and football! Yes, it is that about that time of year! Wow, I am still amazed with how fast these year has gone by! It’s almost 2009!!I guess that goes to show how time does seem to fly on by when you are busy! 😉
Thanksgiving is only a couple of days away, and it is not only a time to eat turkey and watch a lot of football games, but it is a time to be thankful. There are so many things that I am thankful for. I was inspired by reading my Dad’s blog today, and even with times that we are facing today– we have to take a step back and be happy with all of the wonderful things that life has to offer. Here are some of the things that I am thankful for:
- I am happy to have a strong, close, and wonderful family. I am very fortunate to having wonderful parents (Roger and Laura) and amazing sisters (Kristin and Karla). 🙂 I consider myself very lucky to have such a great family. 🙂
- I am lucky to have some amazing friends– from high school to Florida to USC and Tennessee– they have been great! 🙂
- I am excited with the opportunities that academics has given me. It is exciting that I am studying PR at Tennessee and able to go to conferences and present my research, and travel to new places (ex. China).
- I am thankful for food (what can I say, I am a foodie at heart!) Especially if it is some of the amazing meals that Dad has been making– it’s been foodie torture looking at the pictures! 🙂
- I am thankful for my health– joining Jenny Craig two years ago changed my life. I am able to do activities that I never would have dreamed that I would be doing, wearing pant sizes that I would laugh at before, and feeling energetic and always challenging myself with new activities (like kickboxing!)
- I am forever grateful to those brave men and women, including my sister Kristin, who are serving our country overseas. Thank you for protecting our country and God Bless you all!
Life is too short to think only negative thoughts– focus on the positives! Life is wonderful! 🙂 Take every opportunity to enjoy and challenge yourself! 🙂 Take each day to enjoy each others company and take a moment to be think– wow, today is a great day! 🙂
I hope that you all are having a wonderful day, safe travels over Thanksgiving break, and God bless you all. 🙂
Best Wishes,
Karen
