Halloween is definitely a favorite holiday for me.  Growing up, my parents and sisters would all get excited and make sure that we had Halloween candy ready to go for the trick-or-treaters.  Our house was definitely known for having the big size candy bars, and Mom, Dad, and Karla still are continuing this tradition by providing fabulous See’s chocolate candy bars.  Amazing!

Plus, another thing that I absolutely love about Halloween are the fabulous costumes.  I would have to say that my Halloween costumes have been – well – interesting ever since I was little.  I was never a fairy or princess until a few years ago when I was Snow White.  I had been a witch several times, Bat Girl, Super Woman, a Grim Reaper, a Track athlete ( I did this when I was at Florida), and of course, my all-time favorite – Spock when I was in kindergarten. 🙂  The last couple of years since I have been at Tennessee, I have gotten back into dressing up for Halloween, and my costumes over the last couple of years have been unique, different, but fitting. 🙂  As I mentioned before, I was Snow White back in 2008.  Mom had ALWAYS wanted me to be Snow White ever since I was little.. so, I gave in and dressed up as Snow White.

Last year, I was Edna Mode from the movie “The Incredibles” – she was absolutely fabulous and I seem to quote her all of the time when I am talking to my friends and family.  She is a classic!  It was so fun dressing up as her last year that I thought to myself – okay, how am I going to top my costume last year, and appear something unique and fabulous at the same time?

My costume from last year, Edna Mode!

I was struggling to think about what I could possibly be.  Then the answer came to me…. Salt.  No, not like Salt and Pepper – but Evelyn Salt from the movie “Salt” that came out this year.  I thought that this would be perfect – I have the outfit, I have the boots, and all I needed was the wig and made sure that my make-up looked fabulous.  Once I got the wig and put everything together – well, let’s just say that it turned out amazing.  So, as you can see – my choice in Halloween costumes had evolved over the last couple of years, but each year is different and who know what I will be next year.

So, I wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween this weekend! 🙂  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
