Here are some things for today that you might like:
“That’s just one of the findings of a new 24/7 Wall St./Harris Poll survey of 2,095 U.S. adults surveyed online between October 8 and 12, 2010 by Harris Interactive. The poll on American media finds traditional media is in trouble: Newspapers are struggling with circulation and magazines like Newsweek are being sold for $1. And, while two-thirds of Americans (67%) still agree that they prefer to get their news in more traditional ways such as network television and/or reading newspapers or magazines in print, over half of Americans (55%) say traditional media as we currently know it will no longer exist in ten years. Additionally, half of U.S. adults (50%) say they tend to get almost all their news online.””
“When we say “web design,” we’re looking beyond the pretty face of a well-laid-out page, beyond color and typography, beyond trends. What we’re after is a truly elegant and functional design, and those things are just the icing on the cake. We specifically looked for sites that stretch the boundaries of our technologies’ capabilities in interesting, useful and beautiful ways.”
“Small business owners are inundated with advice about the benefits of social media marketing. The problem is, they don’t have the time. In fact, according to a survey by research firm Ad-ology, 50 percent of small business respondents said lead generation is social media’s biggest benefit. But 29 percent said they don’t have the resources available to do a good job with social network marketing.”
