Horray for Troy!
I got a chance to go back to USC yesterday with my Mom and Dad for the first time since I walked at graduation in May. Has it really been seven months? A lot has happened since then! 🙂 From South Africa to officially graduating from USC with my Master’s in Strategic PR in August and then moving to Tennessee to start my Ph.D. – I feel that these past few months have definitely kept me pretty busy! 🙂 But it is a good kind of busy! 🙂

One of the things that I wanted to do when I was home for Christmas was to go back to USC to visit. Little did I know that I would have a great opportunity to go to a basketball game! The Trojans are ranked #25 in the nation right now. And I was even more surprised to find out who their opponent was– Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. I knew that I had to go and cheer mightily for my Trojans! 🙂

Before heading down to LA, or as the bad guy in “Escape from LA” tells Snake Plisken– “This city can kill anybody!”, we stopped in Solvang and visited Ostrichland. Yes, there is a place called that. 🙂 We got some meat and looked around– very cool! 🙂 It took us a while to get to LA, but we made it in good order. The game was really exciting– we got to campus at a few minutes before starting and had great seats.

There were a ton of USC fans and they really did a great job in the Galen Center– what a beautiful facility!! It is really amazing! USC won by a large margin (of course– it would have been completely depressing if they didn’t), and I had a lot of fun! Congrats to all of the Trojans and Fight on! 🙂

I hope you all are having a great day and early Merry Christmas! 🙂

Best Wishes,

Karen 🙂
