The 2007 Track Season Has Begun!!!
It is amazing how fast the track seasons come around! It seemed like yesterday that I started my collegiate career! This year is different for me in many ways– since my track and field career came to an end in June, I will attend track meets as a fan! Well, I will be helping out with USC– but I will still get a chance to watch the meets this time! 🙂
The marks in the weight and shot are off to a good start! Brittany Riley broke the world and American record in the weight– and it’s only January! It’ll be amazig to see what she does in March! Congrats Brittany! 🙂 It seems like everyone is throwing over 72 feet or more this year! I threw the weight for two years at Florida, and it was a fun event– but it takes a toll on your back! The shot is starting to get competitivec. One of the things that I have always noticed during the season is the fact that there is always someone that comes out of no where to surprise everyone. But that is what track and field is all about :). A web site that I would consider to be the leader in covering track and field would be Trackshark. Tom Borish has done an amazing job with his website– keep up the great work! 😀
USC is sending some of the members of the women’s team indoors. They went up to Washington State last weekend and there were a lot of provisional marks! Next up for them is New Mexico— they have a great facility and competitive environment! Before you know it, outdoors will be here! 🙂
Have a great day!
Best Wishes,
Karen
