Models– walk the runway!
I have always enjoyed fashion– from the beautiful clothes to the fabulous shoes, I love it all! So when I found out during my internship that one of the accounts that I would be working on would be the Cape Town Fashion Week, I was so excited! 🙂 The Cape Town Fashion Week will start today (August 8th) and go until August 11th at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (just about a block away from where we stayed at the Waterfront!)
Of course, there is a lot that happens on the PR end to prepare to host such an event. You have to do a lot of research on the designers, write their profiles, contact sponsors, write press releases, and make sure that the media has all the information and pictures that they need to do their story. In many ways, you want to make their job easier by providing them with a lot of information. 🙂
During my time at Total Media, I got to work on all of these duties, and it was really a great learning experience for me. I was sad that I wasn’t going to be able to see the show in person, but I know that everyone at Total Media have worked hard and will make this a special event! 🙂
