Hi everyone,

Lots of things going on here– Football, working with the track team, school, and dieting!  First things first– I have to give a huge thumbs up for our football players for their performance yesterday vs Stanford.  Wow– 42-0, makes a girl think! 🙂  Way to go Trojans and let’s keep on doing it for the next four games!  Fight on! 🙂

Also, one of the things that happens to former or retired throwers is that we have to change certain activities that we did while being an athlete.  Sure, we don’t have to lift heavy weights for lots of reps, or throw little iron balls really, really far– but there is something that we can’t do anymore– eat like a thrower!  No more steaks for me! 🙁  Hey, this might be a reason to come out of retirement! 🙂  Just kidding!

This weekend I decided to go on a serious diet to lose my “throwin'” weight.  I am actually right now on a 2300 calorie diet.  Okay, thrower translation– that would have been at least my breakfast when I was throwing a few months ago!  Yikes!  It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for me to at least have about 3500- 4500 calories a day with all the protein and other foods that I would eat.  I guess this means that my ice cream days are over! 🙂

But what is really scary– I have lost weight already!  So, I’ll have to see how that goes and post updates on my weight loss. 🙂

the dieters!

My mom is on  the diet with me, and I am so proud of her for doing this with me!  Dad is sticking with his “Man’s Diet”. 🙂  For more information, you can go and look at Dad’s Blog! 🙂

Have a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen
