We had our last guest speaker visit us today, and it happened to be Jason Falls. Jason is one of my all-time favorite professionals and colleagues in the field. I had a chance to meet him in person for the first time after reading his blog for years back in 2011 when I first got to Louisville. I was super impressed with his insight and expertise, but also the fact he was so approachable.

Another factor that I really like about Jason is the fact he is the same both online and offline. When you meet Jason in person, you are like – yes! This is exactly who I was corresponding with online.

There are some professionals who are not like that so for me, Jason is the real deal. He is a man of his word and will be there when you need help. Jason also helped me out when I needed some help as well. This was two years ago and we were both traveling back from a conference, and Jason was able to get me on a flight back to Louisville in time to make my flight to Barcelona the next day. I wrote this blog post about our experience and what I took away spending the day with Jason. To this day, I tell Jason I owe him bourbon for life for what he did two years ago. 🙂

Today, Jason was able to provide some great insights on what is happening right now with media, technology, and even social media. We had our last official day of classes today, so it was nice to have Jason summarize what the students should be aware of as they enter the workplace and what to be prepared for. Really captivating information here and I am really happy Jason discussed this.

In addition, Jason was able to bounce off ideas and provide feedback on the student’s campaign proposal ideas. The students are presenting their proposals next Wednesday to their clients, so it was truly awesome to see the students ask Jason questions about different aspects of their proposals from marketing tactics to audience segmentation to monetization of social media. As a professor, I sat in awe of the discussion and dialogue I was seeing in my class with Jason.

In summary, Jason did a truly amazing job with his talk and it really energized the students as they finish up their semester in #Freberg15. I wanted the students to not only take away the great insights and stories Jason was able to share, but also see Jason through my eyes as a great professional/person who is true to his word. There is no one like Jason out there and we are very, very fortunate to have such a professional here in Louisville.  Thank you again, Jason!

Hope you all are having a great day!

Best Wishes,
