I am very excited to announce that my first solo publication is now available to view online.  My article titled “Intention to comply with crisis messages communicated via social media” will be published in the academic journal Public Relations Review. The document still stays that it is in press, so it will take a little bit of time to get the official page numbers and volume/issue number.

This is the first publication from my dissertation I wrote and defended last year at the University of Tennessee.  As I have found while talking with some of my friends and colleagues who are in the PhD program, one thing was universal for all of us – we each named our dissertations.  Did my dissertation have a name?  Of course!  I actually named my dissertation “Bruce Lee” for several reasons. First, I thought that my dissertation was pretty massive (over 300 pages) in length and I went through multiple steps in the research process (focus groups, realism checks for the scenarios, a pilot test, and a consumer panel).  Second, I thought that it definitely gave me a tough workout that was legendary (well, at least mentally). 🙂

I am very proud of the work I did for my dissertation – it was a great learning experience for me and I felt that I was able to explore some interesting trends and behaviors regarding social media practices with crisis messages.  I am looking forward to continuing this research and exploring new possibilities in this area at the University of Louisville.

Hope you all are having a wonderful day.

Best Wishes,

Karen
