I had the great opportunity to chat with both Jim Nico and Dr. Jane Karwoski from The Social Network Show yesterday about various topics related to social media. The topic of the show was Bolder Branding and Blogging, and here’s the link to the show in case you want to listen to it.
How did I get to be a part of the show you ask? Well, I had a chance to meet Jim at the Convergence Media Conference I presented at this past October in Las Vegas. We brainstormed some ideas and he invited me to be part of the show. I was excited since this was the first social media radio show I had heard about.
The show went very well. It was amazing how fast 30 minutes went by! We were able to share ideas and perspectives on a range of topics from loneliness on social media (based on a research article I worked on a few years ago on Facebook), new emerging trends and issues we need to be aware of for social media of the upcoming year, and how to brand yourself online proactively.
It was fun to be part of the show yesterday. It was great to share some ideas and implications from what I had done previously both in research and teaching in social media. Check out their show and site – they have a range of guests appearing on the show and they are always interested in networking with fellow researchers, scholars, and professionals in the field.
