It seems that Barry Bonds is back in the news again, and this time it isn’t for his home-run record or stating that he won’t go to the Hall of Fame if his home run record has an asterisk next to it.  What is it this time?  Well, it seems that there is a report that Bonds was listed in grand jury papers in the BALCO case that a player named “Barry B” tested positive for steroids.  What was Bonds’s statement?  Here is what he said in an Yahoo! News article:

“I’ve never seen these papers.  I’ve never seen these papers.”
Hmmm– well, what happens if the grand jury finds out that Bonds did in fact know about these papers?  It really doesn’t make Bonds appear transparent to the media.  The thing with Barry Bonds is that when he is in the news, there always seems to be a mention of his involvement with the BALCO scandal.  He may be the home-run leader and one of the more recognizable baseball players today, but his image and reputation have been impacted to a large degree with his involvement in the BALCO case and his dynamic relationship with the media.  It will be interesting to see how this develops.

I hope you all are havig a great day!

Best Wishes,

Karen 🙂
